The Belhus Racing Stables-owned Main Engine registered her second win in four starts since joining our stable in the Mrs Mac’s Handicap (1400m) at Belmont today.

After jumping from gate one, the Exosphere four-year-old enjoyed the run of the race on the leader’s back, and angling out into space on straightening, let down strongly underneath Shaun McGruddy to record a decisive 1.2-length victory.

Main Engine arrived at SJ Wolfe Racing in April and got off to the ideal start with a strong first-up victory at Albany on May 15. Minor placings at Pinjarra and Belmont followed, before making her way back into the winner’s circle at today’s midweek metropolitan meeting.

Main Engine continued Team Wolfe’s winning association with Peter and Karen Morley’s Belhus Racing operation, and on the strength of this triumph this mare now looks ready to step up in grade and have a crack competing at a metropolitan Saturday meeting.
