SJ Wolfe Racing star The Spruiker (pictured above) was back in action at this morning’s Belmont barrier trials and was one of the stable’s 10 runners of the session.

Making his first public appearance since a game second placing in the Bunbury Stakes on March 5, the four-year-old worked to the line nicely to finish second in Heat 8 (1000m) with Tash Faithfull on board.

Promising three-year-old Knot Secret showed he was primed for a successful campaign with a very smart winning in Heat 9 (1000m), coming from worse than midfield to gun down the highly-rated Bitofmerit in the fastest 1000-metre heat of the morning.

The Spruiker and Knot Secret are both scheduled to commence their campaigns in the coming weeks, while the stable’s eight other triallers were all unraced two-year-olds, with Mine Host and Lot Ho successful in their respective 1000-metre heats. Hopefully some of our juveniles will push on to a race start in the next month or so.
