Slick three-year-old Beads returned to racing with a sharp victory in the TABtouch – Better Your Bet Handicap (1000m) at Belmont today.

Starting for the first time since February 19, the son of Star Turn didn’t jump as well as he usually does but still managed to land on the leader’s back in transit and was travelling sweetly underneath Tash Faithfull.

On straightening Beads was desperate for galloping room but once a gap opened 250 metres from home, Tash drove him between runners to his the front and hold off the closers to score by a long head.

Beads has been another terrific money spinner for SJ Wolfe Racing, with third victory from 12 starts taking his earnings beyond $192,000, and looks likely to step out against the older horses for his next assignment at Belmont on Saturday June 18.
