SJ Wolfe Racing would like to thank all 16 of the wonderful ladies in the Watch Me Dance syndicate for their support and enthusiasm over the last few years.

It has been one hell of a ride for everyone connected with this amazing thoroughbred — WA Champion 2YO, WA Champion 3YO, WA Guineas winner, Champion Fillies winner, WA Sires’ Produce Stakes winner — but it came to an emotional end on Sunday when she was sold for $600,000 to Kennewell Racing at the Magic Millions Perth Winter Racehorse Sale.

Our stable appreciates the ownership’s openness to receiving information from Steve Wolfe and various bloodstock experts prior to making the ultimate decision to part ways, but for many “Dance” had become part of their family, so saying goodbye was extremely difficult.

We also wish to thank our talented and hard-working staff for all their efforts over the journey. Without their dedication we would not have reached the heights we did with Watch Me Dance.

Finally, we’d like to give a special mention to Albany Racing Club’s racecourse manager Trevor Ness, who was always very supportive whenever we requested special access to the main grass track in the lead-up to all the big races she contested. Competing at the highest level as a regional trainer is very challenging, so to have all the club’s facilities available to us is crucial, so thanks again Trevor.

Purchased for $34,000 at the 2019 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale, Watch Me Dance would go on to race 26 times for five wins, 13 placings and $899,570 in stakes and bonuses. She would also become the pin-up horse for the “Ladies Of Racing” initiative and the face of all-female thoroughbred racehorse ownership in Western Australia.
